waves, oceans, seascapes

We’re back in Wales and found a great art gallery – Oriel CRiC Gallery

It’s been awhile since I posted anything on the site as been busy with moving back to Wales.  Our lovely Dad passed away last year and although Bob and I travelled back and forth alot to UK from Australia, we decided to move back permanently to be closer to family.  So now we’re in Monmouthshire, South Wales and I’m starting to paint again and found a lovely gallery in Crickhowell – The Oriel CRiC Gallery.

I’ve got a few limited edition prints there and actually just sold two of my wave prints, Amongst The Waves being one of them – happy days.

I’m working on a number of original paintings at the moment and hope to show them at the Gallery in the coming months as well as venturing further afield to check out coastal and city galleries.  We’re also working on opening our online shop – thanks to Mark Pottie 🙂 and Bob of course 🙂  Should be up and running by 1st March!

From Amongst the Waves limited edition prints for sale

Amongst the Waves is a collection of paintings that are from being in and amongst the sea – well my abstract take on it anyway!  This was painted on 640gms watercolour paper and I’m about to do a limited edition of prints as love the colours and as a print you can have small or a big one or an inbetweeny one, whatever suits! The original was painted with inks using many crazy techniques from throwing, pouring, flicking and blowing.  I can print out on canvas or high quality cotton rag paper.

If you’re interested let me know – cheers Sally

Wild Roses for Wendy, a surprise birthday present

Really enjoyed painting this – watercolour on 640gsm 21cms x 56cms.  Adam commissioned the painting as a surprise birthday present for Wendy – we used to work together many years ago at the Regent Palace Hotel, London.   Wendy is really feminine, a lovely lady, loves pinks and greens, so I thought an abstract take on wild roses might be the way to go 🙂

Painting has been delivered and Wendy loves it and Adam is really pleased – happy days x

Sea Waves crashing in

The lovely Ian & Belinda bought ‘Sea Waves crashing in’ from the Sea Spray collection of paintings at our recent Arty Party Exhibition in Sydney, Australia.

Created by painting with acrylic inks and pouring medium on a wooden panel 30cms x 30cms

Into the Light for John Butterworth

Into the light JB

Loved painting Into the Light and very pleased that it has a new home in Sydney, Australia – thank you Claudia Sagripanti and John Butterworth.  Into the Light is painted on 640gsm watercolour paper with inks and the light part I’ve used some iridescent inks so it kind of sparkles and shimmers when the light catches it!

Here it Comes sold at auction in support of research to cure cancer

Here It Comes

Very pleased that ‘Here it Comes’ a painting from ‘Amongst the Waves’ collection of art was sold at auction at a function on 8th April – part of the Cure de Tour that cycles and holds fundraising events to support research in helping to find a cure for cancer.  Really chuffed that it sold for $2,000.

Here is Comes is painted with a range of inks on 640gsm watercolour paper and is my abstract take on the tip of a wave as it starts to gain strength on it’s journey to shore.  It was framed in a floating white frame and looks very contemporary.

The Tube seeks new swish home

The Tube sitting at the Gallery

The Tube is 80cms x 80cms and is created from an original artwork where I’ve painted and mixed inks between layers of a non-toxic pouring medium (a bit like resin).  Each layer takes months to cure with the finish result looking slightly 3D and it sparkles and shimmers in the light.  To create a large piece of art, I’ve had the painting photographed at the Imaging Studio, printed on a special metallic and then had it face-mounted.

The finished piece looks great and really contemporary and would look stunning on a white or perhaps chocolate brown or black wall — and would look great at a beach house, contemporary apartment, a swish hotel.

The Tube is for sale as a limited edition of 25.

Snowdrops

snowdrops

Snowdrops is 21cms x 56cms and painted on 640gsm watercolour paper.  Painted entirely with watercolour paints as I usually use lots of other mediums but have kept the painting simple.  I was trying to capture snowdrops at St. Elli Parish Church in Llanelli for Dad.  Hope you enjoy – now to find a frame!
